Composition:
Fluconazole 400 mg dispersible tablets.
Mode of Action Fluconazole inhibits the fungal cytochrome P450 enzyme 14α demethylase. This inhibition prevents the conversion of  lanosterol to ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cytoplasmic membrane, and subsequent accumulation of 14α-methyl sterols. Fluconazole is primarily fungistatic.
Indication In Pityriasis Versicolor
Dosage 400 mg  as a single dose to be repeated weekly for 2-3 weeks
Side Effects COMMON
  • Dermatologic: Pruritus, Rash
  • Gastrointestinal: Nausea, Vomiting
  • Hepatic: Increased liver enzymes
  • Neurologic: Headache

  • SERIOUS
  • Immunologic: Anaphylaxis (rare)
  • Precautions
  • Cardiac arrhythmias
  • Rarely hepatotoxicity.
  • Contraindications Known hypersensitivity to Fluconazole or other azole antifungals.
    Pregnancy/ Lactation Not safe to be used in these conditions.
